|Aloo Kheema Cutlets|
Ingredients for the cutlets :
4 Medium sized potatoes peeled, boiled and mashed
Hara Masala (Green Masala) - 2 green chillies, half cup coriander and mint leaves (all of them chopped finely in a chopper)
Garam masala powder - Half tsp
Black pepper powder - Half tsp
Zeera (cumin seeds) powder - Half tsp
Dhaniya (coriander seeds) powder - Half tsp
Salt to taste
Mix all the above ingredients really well and keep aside !
Ingredients for the stuffing :
1 lb Kheema or ground beef
1 medium sized onion - finely sliced
Half tsp turmeric powder
Half tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
Salt to taste
In a deep bottomed non-stick pan , heat 3 tbsp oil on medium heat and fry the onions until they turn golden brown in color. Now add the beef , ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder and red chilli powder and saute for about 6-7 minutes. Then add half cup water and salt. Cook for about 5-10 minutes or until the oil starts to separate. Remove from flame and keep it aside to cool it down.
To prepare the patties :
Make balls out of the mashed potatoes mixture. Apply oil on your palms, this will help to flatten the balls and prevents the patties to stick to your palms. Flatten the ball into round shape and fill it with a tablespoon of kheema or mince. Place another flattened patty in order to cover the exposed areas of kheema.
Dip these patties in a beaten egg and finally coat it with bread crumbs.
Shallow fry them in 2-3 tbsp oil so that they don't stick.
Serve as an appetizer with ketchup or with khatti daal and rice as main course :)
