| Meethi Daal |
Although it has salt and there is not even a single granule of sugar in it, it is yet called "Meethi" (sweet) daal because theres no red chilli powder in it and its not spicy !
Ingredients :
Half a cup Masoor daal (Red lentils)
4-5 tbsp oil
A few slices of red onions
One tsp Ginger/Garlic paste
Half tsp turmeric powder
1 green chilly chopped
A few sprigs of coriander leaves
Salt to taste
Method :
First of all, pressure cook the lentils in 2 cups of water and turmeric powder for like 5 minutes so that it turns completely soft. Then blend this daal to achieve a fine and soft texture.
In a separate small pan on medium flame, heat oil and add the red onions and fry until they turn light brown. Then immediately add green chillies , ginger/garlic paste and a pinch of turmeric powder and fry until the ginger/garlic paste turns brown. By this time the onions also turn darker in colour but make sure you do not burn it ! Remove the pan from flame and add the mixture to the daal.
Add salt and cook the daal on low heat for about 5-6minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice and curry :)
Delicioso¡¡¡
