Tandoori Chicken

Tandoori Chicken
Ingredients :
1 Chicken cut into 10 pcs
1 Cup yoghurt
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
Half a tsp Haldi (turmeric powder)
1 tsp red chilli powder ( you can add more if you want it really spicy )
Half a tsp garam masala powder
Half a tsp black pepper powder
1 tsp zeera/dhaniya powder (cumin seeds/ coriander seeds powder)
2 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 tbsp Tandoori masala powder
1 pinch red food color
3 Green chillies slit into half
15-20 curry leaves
A few coriander leaves finely chopped
1 Medium sized onion finely chopped for garnish
Salt to taste

In a large mixing bowl add chicken, curd, ginger garlic paste, haldi, chilli powder , garam masala powder, black pepper powder, zeera / dhaniya powder, lemon juice , tandoori masala powder , food color and salt. Mix well and marinate for at least 3-4 hours in the refrigerator.

Now in a deep bottomed non stick pan heat (in between medium - high heat) half a cup of oil and then add green chillies and curry leaves. Now add the marinated chicken. Fry for at least 10 minutes and then add 2 cups of water . Now cook on medium heat until the chicken is tender or when oil starts to separate. The gravy should evenly coat the chicken. Remove from heat. Garnish with coriander leaves and chopped onions !

Tandoori chicken tastes great with naan and pulaos , it's a great combination with daals as well ! Enjoy :)
